From 1st August 2008, Bristol International is able to relax the rule limiting one bag only through the Security Search Area. Passengers are reminded however, that Airlines flying from the Airport have their own limitations on hand items carried onto the Aircraft.
Bristol International advise that it is the passengers responsibility to ensure that the number of bags presented at Security Search is compliant with their Airline's allowance - this is in order to avoid refusal of carriage at the boarding gate. Christmas Packages: Passengers are reminded that Christmas gift parcels containing liquids are not permitted to be carried as hand luggage through the Security Search Area.

Passengers should also check with their individual airline(s) whether Christmas Crackers are permitted to be carried as hand luggage, to avoid the disappointment of refusal by the airline at the boarding gate.

Before entering the departure lounge all passengers must pass through security. You will be asked to produce your boarding card for inspection before being screened. All hand baggage will be passed through an X-ray scanner and should be kept to a minimum. Security checks are subject to change.
The guidelines for travelling from all UK airports state that liquids are only permitted when in containers of 100ml or less. Liquid containers must be placed together in a 20cm x 20cm re-sealable, transparent plastic bag and presented separately at the search point. A maximum of ten containers holding 100ml are allowed (1 litre of liquid). Liquids can still be packed in bags that are checked in, as the restrictions only apply to hand luggage.
