When should I check-in for my Continental Airlines flight?
Check-in will open 3 hours before the scheduled flight departure time and passengers are recommended to arrive at least 2 hours before their flight to allow for extra security procedures. Passengers can also check-in online up to 24 hours in advance of their flight. Back to top

What is my luggage allowance?
Economy passengers are allowed to check in two pieces of luggage, each weighing no more than 23kgs each. BusinessFirst passengers can check-in 3 pieces of luggage, each weighing no more than 32kgs each. Passengers should refer to Continental Airlines for further luggage information. Each passenger is also allowed one small item of hand luggage to take on board the flight with them, however you should adhere to the restrictions on contents and size - read further information. What's the best way to reach my hotel after I land?
When arriving at Newark New York Airport, the quickest and most direct route into central Manhattan is via the AirTrain. Jump on at the dedicated station within the airport and the train will deliver you to Penn Station in 30 minutes. Read more about the AirTrain. When arriving at Bristol International Airport you can travel on the Express Flyer Coach Service to Bristol Temple Meads Train Station or direct into the city centre. I'm connecting to an onward destination - what happens to my bags?
When connecting to an onward destination through Newark New York, you proceed through immigration and collect your bag before progressing through customs. Then simply drop your bag off at the Bag Transfer Point before proceeding to your designated gate for your onward flight. When you arrive at your final destination you simply collect your bag and proceed on your journey without the need to travel through customs a second time. When returning from the US to Bristol your bags will not need to be collected at Newark and will automatically be reassigned to your connecting flight. for further information please contact Continental Airlines directly.
